Craft Shows And Carved Snowmen

Hey buddies,

Did you have a good weekend? We went to a really fun local art show at The Low Country Store, that I really wish I had exhibited at. Next year I plan to:) It had an amazing turn out.

I listed some of my little carved snowmen and another carved spool ornament at my Etsy shop. If you would like to take a peek click on the side bar at the left, or right here.

I will be carving and painting frantically in the weeks to come since Christmas is coming fast!! I have to turn the carols up real loud, although I am definitely in the spirit.

We saw a man who looked like Santa in the store the other day and I casually said,"greenhouse please" to Hope's disbelief. ha ha it was really funny. He didn't know what I meant, unless he was the REAL Santa Claus. You never know where he may be, even in isle 4 of Beaufort's Food Lion:)

Off to walk my pup, get my girl from school and look for Santa.

Primitive Carved Santa Ornaments

Hey buddies,

Sorry I haven't been around. I am trying to gear up for the Christmas season and have been carving up a storm and listing new items on my websites. I have decided that if my sales aren't that great this year I will most likely be closing my websites. I'll still sell on Etsy, see left sidebar, and possibly eBay but the websites are just one more thing that needs updating, and I would rather be creating than juggling multiple sites.
 

I am thinking hard about selling plants on a site or two because that is my favorite thing to do these days, Our house will soon be over run with babies that I have propagated, once I have to move them in the house at night. (so happy that Matt isn't bothered by my many passions xo)
Well Hope needs help with her homework, Michael just walked in the door from school, and I need to call and say hi to Matthew at the Fed Agent Academy.

Keep checking back because I have about 20 carvings on my studio table that I need to show you.

Creations By Hope

Hey buddies,

Wow I have been neglecting this blog and playing favorites over here. I hope that you check both blogs. My beachy stuff goes to Helena C Studios and my primitives and carvings go right here. Maybe I should just have one blog so as not to disappoint, and or drive myself crazy:)

Anyway, do you see these cutie pie felt kitties? These were designed 100% by my baby girl Hope, who is now 10 yrs old and always always, knitting, sewing, drawing etc etc . If you would like one just email me or leave a comment on this blog for prices etc. (Sorry but the orange one is mine all mine and not for sale, but I know she would be thrilled to create your very own.)
We have been having so much fun this summer and that is part of my absence. I just can't get back each precious moment with my kids and I always take full advantage of them still wanting to play, chat hang out with me etc.
Now Matt is working at home and that brings even more to this busy house, and then there is the pool. We have been having lots of daily fun in that.
I have actually been carving some palm frond wood and will share, but right now I have to get ready to go to the doctor because I am feeling very dizzy, and have been since Sunday (no jokes please ha ha )

Thrifting For Plant Pots

Hey buddies,
I am running out the door to get some groceries before Matthew arrives, but Mum mentioned that  she is tired of seeing my beloved cactus so I will share my latest antique mall/thrift store finds.
there is the best antique mall here on the  island, where I have been  getting my plant pots.
This yellow beauty cost me all  of  $2.00 and I will plant more succulents in  it.

These  enamelware pots found  in  a half price box, which had  a rust spot or two, were perfect for plants  especially when I made some more holes in the bottom for drainage.
I always check the Goodwill  shops first, not only do they have mark down  days, but you are shopping for a good cause:)

Carving Driftwood

Hey buddies,

I am off to get Hope from school but wanted to let you know that I just updated my other blog with my most recently finished pottery pieces and wanted to show you a driftwood carving that I am working on. I hadn't picked up my carving knives in some time, but it felt good between my end of year craziness, to put on my knubby glove and get back to it.

Primitive Pottery Bowl

Hey buddies,

I've been updating alot more over at my cottagy blog because what I seem to be making these days fits more into that style.  Be sure to check back and forth because my carving knives have been sharpened, and I am cleaning out my studio and will be listing things in the days to come.
Carvings, dolls, and lots of supplies.
If you are looking for something in particular let me know because I may have it.
Ebay isn't working for me lately so I am really going to focus on Etsy, and give that a go.
As I was saying, I am really on a cottagy creative roll but with pottery ya never know what you're gonna get (I always hear Forest Gump's voice when I say that:)
This pastel unfired bowl is the primitive speckled bowl at the top of this post after it was fired~crazy!!
OK better go get dinner.
