Hey buddies, I didn't go away on a fancy vacation, I am just here making and wrapping and shipping packages and helping out at school, etc etc.
At 3:30 today I do believe I will do a cartwheel because Hope will officially be on vacation!!! Hooray hooray. Not only do I love having all of my kids home (Matthew oh Matthew come home) but we can concentrate on all of the fun Christmassy things and sleeping later will definitely come into play with my excitement. I am off to help with a constellation project and party. If you would like to see the Santa pencils that I carved yesterday for the class check here . Oh these ornaments are the birds that I showed you in my last post. What a little paint and glitter can do. Have a great day!! Hugs, Helena
Morning buddies, I am trying to blog early since I am pretty wiped out at night. You know how I have wished for a kiln and pottery wheel this year, and since I am well aware that it isn't in the budget, I came up with an alternative~polymer clay. Now to recreate the cool glaze results that are used in pottery, I'm a little stumped with that process.
I probably shouldn't be posting these for all to see since they may just end up under someone's tree. I also will be selling them in my shamefully naked Etsy shop. If I don't get them in for Christmas, they will still look cute year round. This little bird is still a work in progress. I will show you when he is finished.
Better put my Santa hat on and get busy, Hugs Helena
Hey buddies, I am supposed to be paying bills but Bank Of America online bill pay isn't cooperating with me so here I am.
I wanted to show you a few more of my favorite simple ideas for your tree. You know those sweet little mushroom birds that you can find everywhere? I love them and can never have enough. I added them with some prisms from a chandeleir that Glenda gave me in a little swap that we had last Christmas. Now if Izzy would only leave them on the tree. Off to bed, Matt and I are Christmas shopping for Matthew tomorrow. I made out well for Michael online, Hope is finished and I have my early gift right HERE in the Santa hat. Nightie night~ Hugs Helena
Howdy, I just lost this entire post, and I am officially pooped so I will just quickly show you my vintage Christmas ornament collection. I keep them out in this large glass jar that a NY neighbor gave me, found at Pier One I believe. You can find them at estate sales, antique shops, eBay and possibly thrift shops. The search is almost as much fun as finding them. I would love to see your collections so leave me a comment or send me an email.
I am back with some mediocre shots of my new beachy garland. Once the tree is decorated I'll try again. At the time the tree was falling over, the cat was on the table taking a bite of the tree and lil pup was at my feet trying to pull off my sock. Anyone out there want me to photograph your wedding?lol
Along with the pix of the garland on my white tree which will go in my room, is a bowl of vintage tree lights that Matt and I got at an estate sale in NY. What a score huh? I figured it would be safer to display them than to risk antique electical wires. Hope has some of the other vintage ornaments on her tree and I will show you more of my collection tomorrow. I now need to finish decorating and make the house look cozy because Matt comes home from MA tonight. Happy decorating if you're still in progress, Hugs Helena
Hey buddies, Hope and I were at one of our favorite shops after school today. I searched for some online photos of the inside gorgeousness with no luck. I will ask next time if I may take some, but I feel like Slugworth on Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory and I chicken out. Anyways, Hope fell in love with all of their amazing displays of shells and starfish etc etc so I told her that she could pick some and I would put them in her stocking. She is so excited. Specialty stores have so much more to offer when buying stocking stuffers, don't they? Especially when they sell hand made items.
Mum, you should be excited too because we got you some goodies also, and I am finished with you~ where Christmas is concerned, ha ha
We arrived home to a setting sun so I couldn't take photos of my our goodies and my new beachy garland but tomorrow I will, don't you worry! Right next door to "Octopuses" is their sister store, "Bella Vista." Home of fossilized shark's teeth as my nephew Toren knows, painted furniture and lots of bird items. Love it! Hope took some photos for me as I was driving by with the sun in my eyes, thanks hope:)xoxo
I am off to sculpt some bird ornaments and hear more about Michael's power point presentation. Hugs, Helena
